Where can Vietnamese people in Japan get free help with labor problems (wages, contracts, changing jobs)?
VAJ runs a free consultation service in Vietnamese for the Vietnamese community in Japan, covering contracts, wages, job changes, and disputes with employers. You can reach us through the VAWORK consultation portal, Facebook Messenger (facebook.com/hiephoiVN), or email contact@hiephoi.jp.

VAJ offers free consultation on visa renewals, changes of residence status, and family procedures. Together with lawyers and specialists, we also hold regular seminars on work visas and other residence statuses, both in person and online. Complex cases are referred to appropriate professionals.

VAWORK is the consultation portal operated by VAJ for Vietnamese workers in Japan, covering labor issues, visas, job changes, and daily-life problems. From October 2024 to September 2025 alone, VAWORK received 531 consultations and completed support in 247 cases.

VAJ — the Vietnamese Association in Japan (特定非営利活動法人 日本在住ベトナム人協会, corporate number 3012705002242) — has served the community since 1983 and was certified as an NPO by the Governor of Tokyo in October 2020. It works in daily-life consultation, education, cultural exchange, and career support.
