Apology and Announcement: Hung Vuong Kings Memorial Day 2023
OUR APOLOGIES
First and foremost, the NPO Vietnamese Association in Japan (the “Association”) sincerely apologizes to all our fellow Vietnamese and to the community organizations for the postponement of our General Assembly originally scheduled for April 9. The Executive Committee deeply regrets this unfortunate situation, which arose because we have not been able to put together the right people in time for the next phase of our work — following the passing of one of our pillar members, Mr. Nguyen My Tuan, on March 13. After we settle the funeral matters and reorganize the preparations, we will share full details about a new General Assembly date.
ANNOUNCEMENT
Dear fellow Vietnamese,
As is the long-standing custom every early third lunar month, all sons and daughters of Vietnam turn their hearts back to their roots, honoring the merit of the Hung Kings who founded our nation.
“No matter where you go in this world, remember the Founders’ Day on the tenth day of the third lunar month.”
This year, with the pandemic finally easing, and aiming to revive our community events, the Association will hold a music program themed “MEG GOI TA VE” (Mother Calls Us Home) right after the ancestral memorial rites, featuring the Le Hong Quang vocal class from Southern California, USA, alongside familiar voices from our community. Coming together on this great day will also bring us closer in the awareness of our shared roots, deepening our unity and our resolve to bring honor to the Vietnamese people.
With sincere thanks,
President, NPO Vietnamese Association in Japan
NGUYEN PHUONG KHANH
