Community Emergency Relief Program for compatriots affected by COVID (5 rounds: April 2020 to July 2021)
1. Why we did this
From mid-March 2020, COVID-19 cases rose sharply in Japan, prompting the Japanese government to declare states of emergency several times. Factories and companies suspended production, cut staff, and reduced working hours, leaving many Vietnamese students, technical interns, and engineers laid off or placed on extended leave — losing income and struggling with daily life. The Community Emergency Relief Program is one of the Vietnamese Association in Japan's initiatives, with the goal of helping compatriots build a stable life in Japan.
2. Program details and outcomes
From April 2020 to today, the Association carried out 5 rounds of relief, delivering masks and dry food (rice, instant noodles, fish sauce, canned goods, etc.) to compatriots facing hardship from the pandemic — handed over directly, mailed, or shipped via courier.
