In Memoriam: Vice President of NPO Vietnamese Association in Japan, Mr. Nguyen My Tuan
SAD NEWS
With deep sorrow, the Executive Committee of the NPO Vietnamese Association in Japan announces the passing of:
Mr. NGUYEN MY TUAN — Vice President, Vietnamese Association in Japan
Born April 28, 1953, in Da Lat, Vietnam.
After nearly two months of treatment for bile-duct cancer in hospital, Mr. Nguyen My Tuan passed away at 10:30 PM on March 13, 2023, in Tokyo.
He was 70 years old.
The Buddhist Refuge ceremony, food offering, and overnight farewell vigil were held yesterday, March 16, 2023, from 16:45 to 20:00 at Toda Sosaijo Funeral Hall.
The food offering and procession to cremation were held this morning, March 17, 2023, from 8:30 to 10:00 at the same Toda Sosaijo Funeral Hall.
As funeral arrangements were limited to close family and dear friends, on behalf of the family we ask that fellow Vietnamese, friends, and members kindly forgive any unavoidable shortcomings in carrying out, and announcing, the funeral.
In life, Mr. Nguyen My Tuan was a Vietnamese with a pure love for his country, who devoted nearly his entire life to building a better Vietnamese nation and society. He was a source of inspiration for the next generations of the Association as we continue building an ever-healthier, prouder Vietnamese community in Japan.
His passing is a great loss not just for his family and friends, but also for those of us at the Association who have yet to fully recover from the shock. The legacy he leaves behind will certainly be a powerful source of energy as the Association continues to fulfill the aspirations and plans we set together.
The Executive Committee of the NPO Vietnamese Association in Japan respectfully announces this news.
