Notice on "Community Relief — Wuhan Virus Response, Round 3"
Dear compatriots,
On May 4, Prime Minister Abe announced that the state of emergency would be extended through the end of May 2020. The long, dark tunnel of this pandemic appears to be entering its final stretch before the light comes into view. The Japanese government is also rolling out financial aid packages for individuals and businesses, gradually tightening the social safety net so that those in the worst circumstances are not left behind.
Following Round 1 of our relief work (focused on getting food and masks urgently into the hands of compatriots who needed them just to make it through), the Vietnamese Association in Japan (VAJ) launched Round 2 in late April, focused on guiding compatriots through the procedures and forms required to receive Japanese government aid.
In addition, after compiling the results from each of our relief teams, VAJ will publish a financial report and impact summary in the next few days, and report back to the donors who have generously supported the Community Relief program.
From conversations during distribution and on social media, VAJ knows that many compatriots are still struggling economically and remain anxious about losing their jobs — or about already having lost, or being at risk of losing, their legal residency status because of irresponsible handling by their employers.
The pandemic itself may ease in the coming weeks, but its claws will leave long, painful marks on the lives of those compatriots who slipped through the cracks of the social safety net.
For this reason, VAJ has decided to launch Round 3 of the Community Relief — Wuhan Virus Response program, to help these compatriots get through.
If you are living legally in Japan but for some reason have not received any government aid, or if you have received aid but your family is in dire circumstances due to other unfortunate consequences — in short, if you are genuinely in difficulty and need timely help to get back on your feet, please fill out the form below:

Wishing you good health to get through this Wuhan virus.
Sincerely,
Vietnamese Association in Japan
President Nguyen Phuong Khanh
