Announcement of the Summer 2022 Get-Together
SUMMER 2022 GENERATIONAL GET-TOGETHER
Summer — phoenix blossoms covering the sky, kites drifting on the breeze, a bowl of Malabar spinach soup… Memories of home rush in, stirring something deep within us. The summer of sun-drenched horizons that calls to the traveler’s feet is also the season that urges us to sit together once more — to listen to the sound of the waves, to the cicadas, and to one another’s hearts beneath a sky full of stars.
In that spirit, the Vietnamese Association in Japan, with the support of the VIETNAM GARDEN restaurant in Shinjuku, Tokyo, is honored to invite all of our fellow Vietnamese to the Second Generational Get-Together, with details as shown in the poster below.
Come together with us to share the experiences and the joys and sorrows of life; to savor dishes rich with the flavors of home, lovingly prepared by skilled chefs who treasure our traditional cuisine. Come to listen once more to the love songs that lull our memories, to open your hearts through honest conversations across the generations. And come to discover that beneath the hot summer sky there are also gentle, cooling breezes — the breeze of fellowship between compatriots — that bring us closer, that bind us more tightly together, in our shared wish to build a strong Vietnamese community in Japan.
The Vietnamese Association in Japan hopes that with these hours of conversation, with delicious dishes, lyrical songs, and the heartfelt words of Vietnamese of every generation, this gathering will be a summer oasis that restores our energy after so many long, weary working days.
