Statement of the NPO Vietnamese Association in Japan opposing the Putin regime's use of force to invade Ukraine
STATEMENT OF THE NPO VIETNAMESE ASSOCIATION IN JAPAN
OPPOSING THE PUTIN REGIME’S USE OF FORCE TO INVADE UKRAINE
On 24 February 2022, hundreds of thousands of Putin’s troops crossed the border and attacked the neighboring nation of Ukraine, igniting a brutal war that has destroyed Ukrainian cities and both military and civilian infrastructure, taken countless innocent lives, and forced millions of Ukrainians to flee their homeland and seek refuge in neighboring countries to the west.
Whatever reasons may be invoked, this is undeniably the act of a powerful state using force to invade another sovereign country recognized by the world, violating international law, disrupting global order and stability, setting a precedent in which “the big fish swallows the small,” in which the strong invades the weak, and creating the risk of a third world war in which humanity itself could be annihilated by nuclear weapons.
The Vietnamese Association in Japan strongly condemns the act of armed invasion of Ukraine by the Russian regime under Putin’s leadership. We firmly stand alongside the people of Ukraine and all peace-loving people around the world, and we call on the Putin regime to immediately halt the war and withdraw all of its troops.
This is the prerequisite condition for the parties involved to come to the table and discuss peaceful solutions to the conflicts between them.
