Mid-Autumn Festival 2024 — Joyful Reunion Together
Mid-Autumn Festival 2024
A Joyful Mid-Autumn — Gathering Together
This year’s Mid-Autumn Festival saw the Vietnamese Association in Japan come together with our community to create warm and joyful memories.
In Shiga
The “Joyful Mid-Autumn — Gathering Together” event turned the poetic shore of Lake Biwa into a lively playground for over 100 attendees from 30 households.
Under the shimmering moonlight, lanterns handmade by the children lit up a corner of the lake, mingling with cheerful laughter and the joyful procession of lantern bearers.
Lady Hằng and the Moon Boy Cuội appeared, bringing legendary tales and delight, and drawing the children deeper into the warm and festive atmosphere.
Alongside traditional activities such as breaking the offering tray and making lanterns, the organizing committee called for donations toward our home country, where compatriots in northern Vietnam were enduring devastating storms and floods.
The small donation box held the enormous love of the Vietnamese community in Japan, expressing deeply the spirit of “a morsel when starving is worth more than a feast when full.”
In Tokyo
The Mid-Autumn atmosphere in Tokyo was no less lively, with colorful lanterns and an energetic lion dance.
The children were enchanted by the brilliant lanterns, while parents felt as though they were reliving their own childhoods through the traditional activities.
A Special Thank You
Our sincere gratitude goes to our sponsors:
-
Manabiya: a recruitment company for engineers.
-
Đà Nẵng Phố Restaurant: bringing the flavors of Đà Nẵng to Japan.
-
Bánh Mì Xin Chào Kamata: delivering the familiar taste of home.
And especially the two anonymous sponsors in Kansai, who quietly contributed so much to the success of the program!
Thank you to everyone who joined hands to make this an unforgettable Mid-Autumn night!
